Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions that are frequently asked about the series.

Are there any more episodes in Production?

Currently, there are no plans to produce any movies or future episodes.  The main set has even been torn down since September 2000.   However, they could make a movie using some stock footage, and many of the town scenes were shot at the Pickering Village Museum which is still standing.  I'd love to see a movie where Plumfield took a field trip to Arizona to visit Franz and Isabelle...but we're going to have to send Pax, CTV, and Motion International some letters if we want that to happens

Where does the show film?

Most of the filming was done on the Claremont Conservation Area.  That is where the Plumfield estate was located, and also the town scenes that had Mr. Gerson's shop, etc.  The Pickering Village Museum was also used to film several of the town shots.  Dr. Pierce's office is at the Pickering Village Museum.

Can I buy Little Men VHS tapes or DVD's?

Currently, there are no VHS tapes or DVD's for sale.  I am hoping that Motion International, the production company, will eventually put some out though.  Click here to contact them if you are interested in purchasing tapes or DVD's

Why did Pax cancel the show?

I believe that the main reason was due to the ratings. Pax wanted a 1.0 rating, and Little Men's best rating for the second season was a 0.8.   LM also had 0.5 ratings during the November Sweeps, a critical month when Madison Avenue (the advertisers) closely monitor the Nielsen Ratings; however, Pax did not offer LM an encore presentation during the month of November, and several of their other shows had two encore presentations.  I have argued that many of we LM fans found the show by channel surging, so it's important for LM to have as much exposure as possible, and Pax did not give the show the exposure some of the network's other shows were receiving.   Also, when LM earned a 0.8 rating, that was the Christmas episode in December, and it was Pax's Number One original show that week.  Season One's Christmas episode also had a good rating, which is why I think that Pax might give us a Christmas movie.
